A few days ago, My family and I went to Cama Beach State Park, which is located in Camano Island, WA in the US. We stayed in a cabin, as all other guests do. The cabin was very nice, as this is a new State Park, which opened just last year in June 2008 (or something like that). Anyways, the beach was very nice, and the overall noise level in the park is very peaceful and quiet. There were many shells and crabs (mainly dead ones) on the beach, along with the billions or trillions of rocks lying on the shoreline. The washroom was also very nice and clean. If I was to rate this park, I would give it a 10 out of 10 because of the great view, the nice breezes, the tidiness of the park, and last but not least, the quietness in nature. I would definitely recommend this great park for everyone.
The great thing about staying at this wonderful State park is because it is cheap, costing only $20 – $40 (without taxes) per night for first/second row cabins, much cheaper than hotels. It’s also near Seattle Premium Outlets (about 10-20 miles when you reach I-5.
Half a summer gone already…
This past week, the heatwave in Southern BC has made some people (like me) sleep somewhere cooler. I now have a great time sleeping at my seemingly “air-conditioned” basement. Though it is better now, the basement is still great because there isn’t as much noise. Anyways, while I am writing this, I am eating a nice BBQ’d steak at my cousin’s house. Tomorrow, I’m again gonna have a another BBQ at the one and only Bunzen Lake in Anmore. Overall, this summer is going VERY good.
I’ve had some fun days lately. I had some friends come over and that was about it. We played some Wii and rode our bikes and that was about it…
For the past 6 day, I went to Las Vegas, Nevada, where all the entertainment is.
I arrived to Bellingham International Airport at 7:30AM for a flight at 9:15. It was very tiring to wake up so early, but anyways, when I arrived in Las Vegas, it was 12:30PM. Immediately after I left the airport I felt the intense heat of the desert sun. Since I went with my family and friends, we rented a car. Not just any car, but a MINIVAN! We got a Kia Sedona. Originally, we were going to rent a Caravan, but there were none left so that’s what we got… We didn’t do much the first day, except check in to our hotel, if you could call it one. MGM Grand is HUGE, with many shops. We went to some outlets nearby and then stopped at Denny’s for dinner. At night, we toured the strip on Las Vegas Blvd. I went to the Coca-Cola shop, the M&M shop, and looked at some water displays. In the Coca-Cola shop, I bought an aluminum Coca-Cola bottle, though I accidentally broke it when I got back to my house 6 days later by putting it in the freezer…
I wake up, get dressed, and go down to McDonalds to grab a $1 Sausage Burrito. After, we go to Caesar’s
MORE TO COME…
Today I decided to install the Homebrew Channel, a software mod in which you can play “homebrew” games and launch other utilities. I though it would take a long time to install, but in reality, it took only 3 seconds to install. Right away I was able to see the homebrew games that I had downloaded in advance on the HB Channel. It seems like a great risk, but really, it was no sweat. The games are a little limited, though I think more games would be popping into the HB Channel as time goes.
Today, I decided to download Combat Arms™ (CA). It is a fast paced online action game by Nexon™, much like CounterStrike: Source™ (CS). The only difference is that CA is free, while you have to pay for CS. However, CS is more flexible, as it lets you play tens of modes, like Gun Game, Deathmatch, Elimination, and much more. Some servers are also hosted by individuals. CA is only hosted by Nexon™, and is sort of fixed. It still has modes like Deathmatch and Elimination, but the number one reason that it’s better than CS is because it is free like other Nexon™ games.
Do you have a bad graphics card that’s slowing down Windows XP? Well, if you do, turn everything basic, that is, if you want the performance and don’t care about the appearance. First off, right click on your desktop and select “Properties”. After, click on the “Themes” tab. Find the “Windows Classic” or “Windows Standard” theme. Either one works fine, but I would recommend Windows Classic. After, click “OK”. Then click “Start” and right click “My Computer” and select “Properties”. Under the “Advanced” tab, click “Settings” under “Performance”. There, select the “Adjust for best performance” radio. Then click “OK”, and “OK” again. Your PC should now be faster from less graphics.
Today I went to Cultus Lake Water Slides in Chilliwack, BC. It was okay. It rained the entire day when I was there. The cold breeze hit me throughout the day, and I even drank an ICE CAPPUCINO! It was a lot of fun, though. I went on the Valley of Fear, Free Fall, Radical Rapids, Colossal Canyon, and the hot tub. I practically stayed in the hot tub for two thirds of the time. In the end, I thought it was okay…
Today’s the day! The start of my blog. For me, it is a great start. WordPress took only 1 minute to setup. Now it’s time to setup WordPress MU. My friend told me about it, so in a couple of days, it should be set up. Well, I will keep this updated. Oh, and a question for all: Do you think a Desktop PC could stay on for a long time? I’m running my blog on Ubuntu, and I’m not quite sure if it will overheat and start a fire. Anyways, have a great day!
